Motivation
Motivation refers to the psychological processes that arouse and direct goal-oriented behaviour. It is the internal drive that fuels individuals to take action towards achieving specific objectives or fulfilling needs. Motivation can be intrinsic, stemming from internal satisfaction or personal fulfillment, or extrinsic, driven by external factors such as rewards, recognition, or the avoidance of negative consequences. Understanding motivation is essential in various contexts, including education, workplace productivity, and personal development, as it influences how individuals approach tasks, overcome challenges, and persist in their efforts. It encompasses a range of factors including desires, needs, attitudes, and beliefs, which collectively shape an individual’s willingness to engage in particular behaviours.
