US Midterm Elections
The US Midterm Elections are federal elections held in the United States approximately halfway through the President’s four-year term. They occur on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in even-numbered years. During these elections, voters elect members of Congress, including all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and about one-third of the 100 seats in the Senate. Additionally, midterm elections often include state and local elections, such as governors, state legislators, and various local offices. The results can significantly impact the political landscape, as the party in control of Congress may change, influencing legislation and the President’s ability to implement their agenda. Midterm elections generally see lower voter turnout compared to presidential elections.
