Satellite Maintenance

Satellite maintenance refers to the processes and activities involved in ensuring the proper functioning and longevity of satellites in orbit. This can include regular software updates, repair of onboard systems, and troubleshooting of any operational issues that arise during the satellite’s mission. Maintenance may also involve planned procedures for adjusting the satellite’s orbit, optimizing its performance, and occasionally, coordinating with ground control for real-time interventions. Although physical maintenance (like repairs and upgrades) is not typically feasible for satellites once they are in space, certain preventive measures and monitoring techniques are employed to prolong their operational life and effectiveness in providing services such as communication, navigation, and Earth observation.
