Remote Sensing

Remote Sensing is the science and technology of obtaining information about objects or areas from a distance, typically from aircraft or satellites. It involves the collection of data through sensors that detect electromagnetic radiation reflected or emitted from the Earth’s surface. This information can be used to analyze and monitor various environmental and geographical phenomena, such as land use, vegetation cover, climate change, and natural disasters. Remote sensing enables researchers and decision-makers to gather large amounts of data over extensive areas without the need for direct contact, facilitating informed decision-making in fields such as agriculture, forestry, urban planning, and environmental management.
