NISAR
NISAR, which stands for NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar, is a collaborative satellite mission between NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States) and ISRO (the Indian Space Research Organisation). The mission aims to provide detailed observations of the Earth’s surface, focusing on monitoring changes in ecosystems, ice sheets, sea levels, and the impacts of natural disasters. NISAR will use advanced synthetic aperture radar technology to collect high-resolution data that will help in understanding various geological and environmental processes. The satellite is designed to operate in two radar frequency bands, L-band and S-band, ensuring that it can capture a wide range of data regarding land deformation, deforestation, and other dynamic changes on Earth. This mission is expected to enhance our understanding of climate change and provide valuable information for addressing global challenges.
