Lidar Technology

Lidar Technology, short for Light Detection and Ranging, is a remote sensing method that uses laser light to measure distances to the Earth’s surface. It operates by sending out laser pulses and measuring the time it takes for the pulses to return after bouncing off an object or surface. This information is then used to create high-resolution, three-dimensional maps of the terrain. Lidar technology is widely used in various fields including geography, forestry, environmental monitoring, and urban planning, enabling precise topographic modeling, vegetation analysis, and infrastructure mapping. The technology can be deployed from aircraft, drones, or ground-based systems, providing flexibility in data collection over different landscapes and applications.
