International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study of the interactions between countries, including the roles of states, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational corporations. It examines the political, economic, social, and cultural relationships that occur on a global scale. Key concepts within international relations include diplomacy, conflict resolution, international security, trade, human rights, and global governance. Scholars in this field analyze how countries communicate, negotiate, cooperate, and compete with one another, as well as the impact of international law and institutions on state behavior. The study of international relations also encompasses various theories, such as realism, liberalism, constructivism, and critical theory, which offer different perspectives on the motivations and actions of states and other actors in the international system. Ultimately, international relations seeks to understand the complex web of interdependencies and power dynamics that shape global affairs.
