Indian Space Program

The Indian Space Program refers to the space exploration initiative led by the Indian government, primarily conducted by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Established in 1969, ISRO aims to harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science and exploration. The program encompasses a wide range of activities, including satellite development, launch vehicle technology, and deep space missions. Notable achievements of the Indian Space Program include the successful launch of the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) in 2013, making India the first Asian nation to reach Mars orbit, as well as the Chandrayaan missions aimed at lunar exploration. The program focuses on various applications, including telecommunications, weather forecasting, navigation, and scientific research, contributing significantly to India’s technological advancements and international standing in space science.
