India Space Program
The India Space Program refers to the initiatives and efforts undertaken by the Indian government, primarily through the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to develop and advance space technology and exploration capabilities. Established in 1969, ISRO has been responsible for a range of significant achievements in satellite development, launch vehicle technology, space exploration, and remote sensing. The program encompasses various aspects, including the launch of satellites for communication, weather forecasting, and Earth observation, as well as ambitious missions such as the Chandrayaan lunar missions and the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan). The goals of the India Space Program also include fostering scientific research, enhancing national security, and contributing to international space cooperation. Through these endeavors, India aims to strengthen its position in the global space arena and utilize space technology for national development.
