Ukraine
Ukraine is a country located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Belarus to the north, Russia to the northeast and east, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea to the south, and Romania, Hungary, and Poland to the west. It is the largest country entirely within Europe and has a rich cultural heritage that includes various traditions, languages, and historical influences. The capital city is Kyiv, which serves as the political, economic, and cultural center. Ukraine is known for its diverse landscapes, including plains, plateaus, hills, and rivers, as well as its significant agricultural output, often referred to as the “breadbasket of Europe.” The nation has a complex history, having been part of various empires and influenced by neighboring countries. In recent years, Ukraine has gained international attention due to its geopolitical significance and conflicts, particularly in relation to its sovereignty and territorial integrity following events such as the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014. Ukraine also strives for closer integration with Western Europe and NATO, reflecting its aspirations for political and economic reform.
