National Security

National security refers to the policies and strategies implemented by a state to protect its citizens, territory, and interests from internal and external threats. It encompasses a broad range of actions and measures, including military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement, and diplomatic efforts, aimed at ensuring the stability and safety of the nation. National security involves safeguarding against various risks such as terrorism, espionage, cyberattacks, and conventional military threats, as well as addressing economic, environmental, and public health challenges that could impact the country’s well-being. It is a fundamental responsibility of the government and is often central to national policymaking. Each nation may define and prioritize its national security differently based on its specific geopolitical context, values, and threats.
