ISRO
ISRO, or the Indian Space Research Organisation, is the space agency of the Government of India, founded in 1969. Its primary objective is to harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration. ISRO is responsible for designing and launching satellites for various applications, including communication, navigation, meteorology, and earth observation. The agency has developed significant indigenous technology for satellite launches and spacecraft, notably through its launch vehicles, such as the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). Over the years, ISRO has achieved numerous milestones, including the Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan), which made India the first nation to reach Martian orbit on its first attempt, and the Chandrayaan missions to explore the Moon. ISRO’s work is pivotal in advancing India’s capabilities in space technology and contributing to global scientific research and development.
