International Relations
International Relations (IR) is the study of the interactions between sovereign states, as well as the relationships among non-state actors, including international organizations, non-governmental organizations, multinational corporations, and intergovernmental organizations. It encompasses various aspects of diplomacy, conflict, trade, and international law. The field seeks to understand how countries and entities engage with one another, the factors that influence these interactions, and the implications of these relationships on global stability, security, and cooperation.
IR examines various theories and models to analyze political behavior, including realism, liberalism, constructivism, and critical theory. It also covers a wide range of topics, such as war, peace, international economic relations, human rights, environmental issues, and globalization. Through this lens, scholars and practitioners aim to navigate and address the complexities of a globalized world, shaping policies and strategies that affect international cooperation and competition.
