European Union

The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union of member states located primarily in Europe. Established with the aim of fostering integration and cooperation among its members, the EU facilitates a single market allowing for the free movement of goods, services, capital, and people. It is governed by a set of institutions, including the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the Council of the European Union, which work together to create and enforce legislation across member countries. The EU also has its own currency, the euro, adopted by 19 of the member states, known as the Eurozone. The organization’s foundational principles include promoting peace, stability, and prosperity within Europe while addressing common challenges such as trade, environmental policy, and migration.
