Caribbean

The Caribbean refers to a region consisting of the Caribbean Sea and its islands, as well as the surrounding coastal areas. This area is characterized by a rich diversity of cultures, languages, and histories, influenced by Indigenous peoples, European colonization, African diaspora, and more recent migration. Geographically, the Caribbean includes island nations and territories such as Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, as well as smaller islands like Saint Lucia and Barbados. The term can also encompass the larger mainland countries that border the Caribbean Sea, such as parts of Central America and northern South America. Economically, the Caribbean is known for tourism, agriculture, and natural resources, making it an important area for both local and international economies.
