Asia

Asia is the largest and most populous continent on Earth, covering approximately 44.58 million square kilometers (17.21 million square miles) and hosting around 60% of the world’s population. It is bounded by the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Indian Ocean to the south, and Europe and Africa to the west. Asia is characterized by a diverse range of cultures, languages, ethnic groups, and religions, making it one of the most culturally rich regions in the world.

The continent is traditionally divided into several regions, including East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and Western Asia (or the Middle East). Each of these regions has its unique historical and cultural significance, contributing to Asia’s overall diversity. Economically, Asia is home to some of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies, such as China and India, as well as significant global trade hubs like Japan and South Korea.

In addition to its cultural and economic diversity, Asia’s geography encompasses a wide range of landscapes, from vast deserts and towering mountain ranges to fertile plains and tropical rainforests. This geographical diversity supports a wide variety of ecosystems and biodiversity.
